“Commercial real estate alternative assets classes (e.g. student housing, rental apartments) will continue to generate increased interest.”
The short extract above from Colliers’ Poland Market Insights H1 2018, is a key part of their prognosis for investment into Poland, going forward.
Their H1 summary for the country shows it continuing to impress in its growth and adaptability in accommodating new markets. Its growing private consumer consumption shows how its people are firmly in the 21st century with high aspirations, warmed by falling unemployment and low interest rates against a background of slightly lowered inflation.
From a Real Estate perspective, yields are compressing in the major centres as land prices rise and developments across all sectors accelerate. Purpose-Built Student Housing has barely got off the ground in this country which boasts some of Europe’s oldest universities and growing numbers of foreign students.
The Polish government and universities are unified in promoting affordable and high-quality higher education with growing numbers of courses taught in English.
The increased interest in investing into Student Housing, mentioned above, represents a sign that Europe’s “next big thing” is opening-up, right before our eyes.
